so, we are pretending that today, april 26th, is actually april 25th so i can recap the events of april 24th and refer to them as "last night". hopefully that sentence made so kind of sense.
as many of you know, last night i attended fall out boy's believers never die part deux tour. it all started when my mother checked me, my sister, emily, and my friend, marissa, out of school at about eleven. we quickly packed our bags, changed our outfits, and piled into the car. we drove off to charlotte, north carolina in search of the bojangles coliseum. the drive seemed to last years, because i knew what was on the other side. when we arrived to the coliseum, my mother was confused as to where to drop us off so we drove around the coliseum once to find a drop off spot. as we were doing so, my mother says "PETE WENTZ IS STANDING RIGHT THERE" as she pointed towards the sidewalk next to the coliseum. me and marissa jumped out of the car and walked towards him. pete was showing an old couple pictures of his baby, bronx, on his blackberry. i made marissa ask for a picture and this is what she said "hey pete, my friend is afraid to ask you, but could she get a picture because she's been obsessed with you forever". pete's response was "don't be scared". he put his arm around me and then took the picture. 1) i was shaking so badly because of what marissa said (obsessed?! WTF?!) 2) i was creeped out by myself for having the weirdest luck to randomly stubble upon pete wentz. i called hayley and freaked out to her, i seriously could not believe that just happened to me. while still in a pete wentz themed daze, me and marissa went down to wait in line. when we first got there, there weren't many people in line at all. we just sat around for about thirty minutes until it was time for marissa to leave to attend her all time low meet and greet. i was left to fend for myself, which worked out pretty well. i somehow made it to the very front of the line, right next to the gate. the guards were letting in twenty guests at a time. i busted though the gate and actually did make it in the first group. since marissa had meet and greet, it included early entry, so she already saved me a spot second row away from barricade. i've never been that close during a fall out boy show so i wanted to pee my pants out of excitement. soon after, hey monday took the stage. i have to admit for a fake paramore sounding band, they were pretty good. the bassist was also very cute :) during their set, pete wentz came out during one of their songs to scream. he was so close! marissa got some pretty good pictures. i feel i should mention that at this point of the show, the pit was not bad at all, very bearable. hey monday finished up and the stage hands set up for all time low. once all time low came out, the pit immediately got very, very bad. people were pushing towards the front so hard. i was on top of marissa in the whole time, i felt really bad about that. the lack of space caused lack of air which caused sweat, and lots of it. it was so hot and sweaty in that pit. by the end of all time low's set, i started to feel really weird. the only way to describe how i was feeling is that i felt like i was living in a dream. i couldn't feel, i couldn't see, i couldn't breathe. i was trying to have billy, the barricade guard, take me out but another of the guards wouldn't let him so i can to turn around a walk out. luckily, people were yelling "SHE NEEDS TO GET OUT!" so people moved and i finally got out. first thing i did was call my mom in tears. i didn't know what to do and i was afraid that i was going to miss cobra starship. she told me to calm down and get something to drink. i got a huge diet coke and downed the entire thing. i felt much better. cobra starship started to play so i just stayed at a distance and watched. i actually enjoyed the show so much more from a distance. i could jump around and scream to the songs without being bothered. cobra had an amazing set. i loved every song they played and i had so much fun, even if i was alone. after cobra's set, i found marissa and we set off to buy our merch because we knew that 50 cent was going to be playing next and we didn't care to see him. i bought the believers never die tour shirt and the young and rich clandestine shirt. we went back into the arena and watched a couple of 50 cent's "songs". my heart was beating so fast because i knew that fall out boy was next. once i heard the beginning to "disloyal order of water buffalos", i got so extremely excited. fall out boy came out and rocked it. they played all of my favorites off of folie a deux, including disloyal order of water buffalos, she's my winona, coffee's for closers, what a catch donnie, headfirst slide into coopers town on a bad bet, and tiffany blews. i couldn't believe what an amazing set they had. the best part of their set though was the fact that they actually played "the patron saint of liars and fakes". i was screaming so hard when i heard the beginning to that song. and hearing patrick say "take this to your grave, i'll take it to mine" just made my heart skip a beat. it was the greatest experience ever. one of the best shows i've ever been to, i love fall out boy. and i had an amazing time at that show even if i didn't get to see them from barricade level. april 24th was a night to remember <3
