on the eve of 2009

out of sixteen year of living, 2008 was one of my favorite years. i met wonderful people, i went to amazing places, and i learned so much about myself. 2008 has changed me, i've become a better person because of all that's happened. i just only hope that good things come in 2009 as well. in memory of 2008, i will tell of my year.
towards the beginning of the year, nothing too special happened until february. a couple days after valentine's day, me and my family traveled to visit hayley for the first time in newport news, virginia. i had such a great time and i cried for the whole day that i had to leave.two months later, it was time for spring break. me and emily decided to bring one of our good friends from school, lauren, to hilton head island with us. we had so much fun renaming the people at the resort and riding our bikes all around. we even went to the HGTV green home and we saw 21 :)
after spring break, spring seemed to fly by and before i knew it, summer had arrived. usually, my family has a huge trip planned for us for the summer, but in 2008, we took a different route. instead, we stayed home. on june 28th, hayley came to visit on her way back from florida. i was so extremely excited that hayley finally got to come experience holly springs, north carolina. throughout her visit, we went to carolina beach, three different malls, and my sixteenth birthday party. i pretty much had the worst 16th birthday ever, but hayley cheered me up.
ten days later, i went back up to virginia for warped tour. warped tour was the best day of my life. i saw the academy is, cobra starship, katy perry, say anything, mayday parade, and most importantly, MADINA FREAKING LAKE. i also met madina lake that day. i got my homemade shirt signed and a got a picture with matthew and nathan leone. although, i got beat up and severely sunburnt, july 15th was my favorite day of summer 2008.towards the end of july, i did many strange, off the wall things. i went to the jonas brothers concert with my new friend, sam, and i also went to the release party of 'breaking dawn'. i went to the release party, even when i haven't read the books!the summer quickly ended, and school started. nothing special happened with school, actually, nothing special happened with life until october. in october, i met megan gillespie and marissa barablato. they soon became my closest friends. we did something every weekend for the past four months. they are crazy, fun people that i love hanging out with and they taught me that i should just be myself at all times. we've done many fun things together like went trick or treating, going to shows, wii fitting, and everything else imaginable. i'm so grateful for meeting both of them.
in december, my brother, brad, graduated from college. this was a monumental event. me, my family, and brad's girlfriend, kayce, went to see him receive the diploma. it gave me hope that one day, i will too graduate from the university of north carolina wilmingtonbrad's graduation was the last of many things i did this year. as you can see, my year was full of life-changing, amazing things. i've started my junior year off well, and now i sincerely hope to finish it the same way. goodbye 2008, hello 2009.

happy new year, everyone ;)
